Editing Swipe Gestures (iOS)
In Actions, gestures are scattered throughout the interface to make the experience less about specific touch targets and more about ease of use. But since gestures are supposed to be as useful as possible, we wanted to make sure that you have opportunities to customize them to your liking.
In Lists
Typically, swiping from the edge in fullscreen mode in Lists switches between each individual List one by one. Alternatively, a swipe from edge gesture can signify a “back” request, taking you out of fullscreen mode and into the Lists switcher.
- Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen
- Select “Preferences”
- Tap “General”
- Under “Lists,” check “Use edge swipe to go back”
On Action Cards
Different apps have different gestures, which can make it tough to keep track of it all. Whether you’re switching to Actions from a to-do app with different gestures or prefer your email and task management apps to have the same directional gestures, Actions can help.
- Tap the Menu icon at the bottom of the screen
- Select “Preferences”
- Tap “Actions”
- Check “Swipe right to complete”
This will then flip the default gestures, allowing you to complete an Action Card by swiping left to right, rescheduling with a short swipe right to left, etc.
